Infiltrator was the first Medal of Honor released for portable systems. After Spearhead and Breakthrough, Medal of Honor: Infiltrator was released for the Game Boy Advance and was developed by Netherock. The next expansion, Breakthrough, did the same but was developed by TKO Software. Spearhead was the first expansion and added new battles to the single player. Two expansions for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault were released shortly after Rising Sun. Medal of Honor: Rising Sun was released in 2003, which was largely similar to Frontline but took place in the Pacific battlefield. Frontline was also the first multi-platform Medal of Honor title, being released for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox. Medal of Honor: Frontline was released later that year and development was taken over by internal studios within Electronic Arts. Allied Assault was also developed by 2015, Inc., instead of DreamWorks Interactive. Allied Assault was the first Medal of Honor to be released on Windows. The next instalment, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, was released in January 2002. Medal of Honor: Underground was released the next year and was the first World War II game to allow players to play as a woman. The story was written by Steven Spielberg and Medal of Honor was a huge success often regarded as the best first-person shooter on the PlayStation. Medal of Honor was released on Novemon the PlayStation, developed by DreamWorks Interactive and published by Electronic Arts.
